Renovation our pool for learning, safety and school pride
At NAS Jakarta, we're always looking to improve our campus in ways that truly benefit our students. This year, we're excited to share that our swimming pool is undergoing a major renovation. The project reflects our continued investment in wellbeing, safety, and student experience.

The pool is a vibrant part of daily life at NAS Jakarta. It is used for everything from developing water confidence in Early Years swimming lessons to after-school activities and competitive swim meets. The renovation will improve the design, safety, and overall experience for students, staff and families alike. “The flooring around the pool will be much safer, especially for the younger students,” says Antie, NAS Jakarta’s Operations Manager. “We’re replacing the old ceramic tiles with rubberised surfacing. It’s not just less slippery, it’s also cooler to walk on.” In addition to resurfacing the space, the renovation includes improved drainage and a reconfiguration of the pool’s surrounding area. New benches and shaded zones will make it easier for families to attend swim events and feel more connected to school life. “We also want to create a better experience for the parents,” Antie explains. “We’re adding more benches and shaded areas so they can come and watch events more comfortably and feel more involved.”

In addition to comfort and safety, the goal is to create a facility that fosters school pride and provides students with a space where they feel confident and enthusiastic about their swimming. “The whole space will look and feel more professional,” says Antie.

For NAS Jakarta, the pool is not just a facility for swimming. It is part of a holistic educational experience for physical development, for building students’ life skills, and supporting community values.

The renovation is part of a broader vision for campus development. This includes the school’s expansion into Secondary education in the 2026–27 academic year. “We are investing in facilities that support how our students learn best, with purpose, confidence, and connection,” says Principal Rosy Clark. “This is a school that listens and grows with its families.” Work on the pool is now underway and is expected to be completed in time for the new academic year. We look forward to welcoming our students back to a refreshed, safer, and more inspiring pool. It is a space ready to support every splash, stroke, and success.
