How NAISAK’s supportive environment and inspirational teachers empowered Eileen to shine
Grade 5 student at Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK), Eileen is a shining example of the school’s commitment to nurturing confidence, creative and well-rounded people. “I love being a student at NAISAK because I just love how inspiring the teachers are,” says Eileen, reflecting on how the school’s teaching methods transform learning into an exciting and engaging experience. “When I find difficulties with something, they make it just like magic, like I just know it from the next day.”

For Eileen, NAISAK is more than just a school; it's a family. “It’s just like a big family that is growing and learning together.” This supportive community, where students, teachers, and staff are united in their mission to help each child succeed, has been integral to her growth. “It’s just really nice to be here in school every day,” she adds, highlighting the joy she finds in the daily learning environment.

One teacher who has played a pivotal role in Eileen’s academic journey is Mr. Leonce, her maths teacher. Eileen remembers maths as challenging initially, but through Mr. Leonce’s guidance, she found the confidence to excel. “My favourite teacher is Mr. Leonce because I’ve been struggling in maths, and he actually inspired me,” she says. “Now I believe in myself that I can do it. So like now I’m actually really good at maths and I find it really easy for me.”

English is another subject where Eileen flourished. “My favourite subject is English because I love how English just has books and stuff, and I love reading stories and I love writing things,” she shares. One of Eileen’s proudest achievements in English is a poem she wrote. “I did write a poem. It was about my country, and my teacher also helped me with it because she was actually so inspired by it,” she recalls, highlighting how the school encourages students to express their creativity and engage with the world around them.

Beyond the classroom, Eileen’s love for the arts continues to grow. She is active in NAISAK’s dance company, where she showcases her talents in front of the school community. “[My teacher] chose 20 students that were actually like the best at dance, and she chose me,” Eileen recalls, describing the excitement she felt performing to the song Charleston.

Eileen’s passion for sports further demonstrates the school’s well-rounded approach to education: “In sports day, I won a certificate and a medal for long jump,” Eileen says. “I’m really good at running and I’ve won a medal for running.”

Eileen’s experience at NAISAK shows the school's dedication to fostering confidence, creativity, and growth. Whether it’s through writing, dancing, running, or maths, Eileen continues to flourish, guided by inspiring teachers and a community that supports her every step of the way.
